The Ballard neighborhood is located in the northwestern area of the City of Seattle. Just north you’ll find Crown Hill and to the East you’ll find Greenwood and Fremont. One of the popular areas of the Ballard neighborhood is known as Ballard Locks (also known as Hiram M. Chittenden Locks). Most recently Ballard Locks posted new hours of operation from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., previously they have opened much earlier. The Ballard neighborhood has a strong Scandinavian following.
Many visit Ballard each year to watch the salmon make their spawning journey or to experience the historic Ballard Avenue.
The Ballard neighborhood is conveniently located from Seattle’s downtown and many residents like the slower pace of the small town.
