Zoolights Tacoma

Now that Halloween is over, I hope you’re ready for Christmas because it’s just around the corner.  The Zoolights Tacoma Festival will start on November 23rd this year and will continue until Jan 1st 2012.  It’s closed on Christmas Eve but open daily 5-9pm.  Tickets will set you back $7.25 per person at any Fred Myer store. Children 2 years old or under are free.  Tickets at the gate will cost $8.50 per person.

If you’re not familiar with Zoolights, it’s a event held each year at the Point Defiance Zoo.  The Zoo installs over 500 million LED lights and it’s the perfect setting to get you in the mood for Christmas.  Stroll through the even and see all the old shaped animals, trees, and festive oddities.  I’ve been told you can even ride a camel!  Get there early because the line for it can get kind of long.  A repeated display each year is the flame tree which is quite large and decked out in pink lights.  Many have described the event as surreal setting.

Remember to bundle up because it does get pretty cold out there.  Enjoy!
